CHARITABLE local solicitors pulled out all the stops to help raise a record breaking amount of charity at the same time.
During the November Will Aid campaign they invited people in West Devon to get their affairs in order by getting a professionally written will and donate to the Will Aid charities instead of paying a fee. Nationwide, the campaign has been the most successful to date, raising £2.1-million and encouraging 26,000 people around the UK to make a will with a solicitor.
The West Devon solicitors involved were Stones in Okehampton, which raised £1,780, Browner Milne-Davidson Solicitors in Tavistock, which raised £585, Veitch Penny LLP in Crediton, which raised £610, and Symes Robinson and Lee in Crediton, which raised £800.
The money raised by Will Aid's hardworking solicitors is donated to nine charities — ActionAid, Age Uk, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF and Trocaire.
The campaign will run again this November. For more details visit http://www.willaid.org.uk">www.willaid.org.uk or phone 01460 271178.
