DISASTER is looming in Hatherleigh — but Barry Potta is all set to save the day! The Hatherleigh Walruses are gearing up to cast their magic over the town on New Year's Day. At 2.45pm the Walruses and Barry Potta will do battle with the evil Bob Buildamort on the riverbank before throwing themselves off the bridge at 3pm. The tradition of taking a dip in the bitingly cold water to welcome the New Year is now in its 21st year. This year all the money raised will be going towards youth services in Hatherleigh. This year will also see the 'Walrus Pups' involved. The young walruses will be hosting a possibly rather wet Quidditch match on the riverbank. After the dip there will be refreshments, a prize draw and an auction at Hatherleigh cricket club.
