PROFESSIONAL and amateur artists and craftspeople will gather together next month to display their work at Walkhamptons annual exhibition.
The Walkhampton Art and Craft Annual Exhibition and Sale, now in its 26th year, shows the work of mostly local people, and is set to appeal to traditional and modern tastes with a range of media on offer from graphite, pastel and oil to photography, textile and jewellery all of which are for sale.
Walkhampton designer and illustrator Alan Clarke has recently created a new logo to support the event, depicting Walkhampton Church and surrounding fields. Alan will be exhibiting six pastels of Dartmoor scenes at the show.
The artists and craftspeople will be giving demonstrations of their work, including wildlife artists Robin Armstrong and Richard Woodgate, felt maker Mary Toon and weaver and spinner Jane Deane.
The exhibition is at Walkhampton Memorial Hall from Thursday September 2 to Saturday September 4, from 10am to 7pm, and on Sunday September 5 from 11am to 5pm.
There will be Creature Feature workshops for children aged four and above, making fabric creatures to their own design on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, with a small charge to cover costs and materials.
Entry is free, with voluntary donations going to the Tavistock Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team.
Commission from sales in the exhibition supports community projects linked to Walkhampton Memorial Hall.
