WHILST we applaud West Devon Borough Council for combining the rates/council tax department with that of South Hams, thence saving money, why on earth do they send cash payment cards to residents who pay their rates/council tax by direct debit? This seemingly foolish act must cost us, the rate payer, thousands of pounds extra.
A logical reply will be interesting.
