WHITCHURCH Primary School’s drama club ‘Whitty Kids’ is are set to perform ‘Bugsy Malone’ on Saturday (July 1).
The show, directed by the Whitty Adults (comprising of Sarah Earley, Jemma Exworthy, Sarah Hall, Toby Jasper and Jack Turnock) has once again been heavily supported by Eva Pearson, head of drama at Tavistock College, Richard Tucker, head technician at Tavistock College and Joe Lambert, head of music at Tavistock College who kindly arranged GCSE and A-Level students who along with Whitchurch Primary School’s very own Mrs Higginson helped the group with the backing music to all the iconic songs.
The children have worked exceptionally hard since September during their ‘Whitty Kids’ after school club and additionally learning dances through lunchtimes and after school on Thursday’s and even giving up some of their Easter holidays! They have been described as showing ‘fabulous dedication and enthusiasm’ to produce the show.
The Whitty Kids also welcomed back two of their ex-Whittys, who now attend Tavistock College, as they kindly agreed to take on roles with very little notice, showing commitment and dedication when learning their lines, songs and dances.
There will be a matinee and evening performance.
