Exeter University 2
South Zeal Utd 3
SOUTH Zeal came away with all three points after a good team performance in this potentially tricky match against a fit, young side.
Zeal got off to a great start when Steve Pillivant's free kick was knocked in at the far post by Alan Brimacombe with only two minutes on the clock.
University pulled level after a dubious free kick was deflected past Adam Cann for an undeserved equaliser.
Zeal pressed on quickly and Gary Smith was denied a great goal by the crossbar after a swift counter attack.
South Zeal took the lead again when Pillivant fired home from 20 yards after a determined run by Alan Vile and cross from Henry Bellairs.
University pulled level again after the break when a good ten-minute spell resulted in a clinical finish from one of the home side's strikers.
Eventually Zeal did get the winner they deserved with just 15 minutes remaining. Vile was involved again and his strength and lay-off was rewarded by a Roger White finish after a good save from Brimacombe's shot.
This week away to Motel Rangers, 3pm kick-off.
