Whitchurch U15s v
Plymouth U15s
WHITCHURCH reached the final of the Sun Life of Canada U15 County Cup competition with a six-wicket victory over Plymouth.
Accurate bowling, supported by some high quality fielding saw Whitchurch place early pressure on a strong Plymouth side.
An outstanding catch by Martin at square leg to dismiss Thompson for the first wicket set the tone for the innings. Although four Plymouth batsmen got into double figures, none was able to go on to build a big score as wickets fell regularly.
Evans top scored with 18 as Plymouth were dismissed for 91.
After the fall of an early wicket, a 75-run partnership between Falconer and Kaminski took Whitchurch to the verge of victory.
Although the dismissal of Kaminski for 46 brought a flurry of two further wickets, Whitchurch reached their target with 6 wickets and 3 overs remaining.
Falconer finished with 29 not out, having guided his side to its win.
Whitchurch now play Bideford in the County Cup final.
