IN reference to your article (January 11) regarding rubbish making a bad image for the town.

Yes, I would agree with some of the things said, that rubbish is unsightly. What are people supposed to do with it when people share a house and they have nowhere to keep it and the dustbin men do not collect it for 16 days?

I know they like time off, the same as the rest of us, but surely the council could put more lorries and men to catch up. I had to phone three different people in the council to find out if and when they were going to collect it, as we had 15-20 bags and two dustbins outside.

If the council were to provide a wheely bin to each house then this would mean there would not be so many unsightly plastic bags on the pavements and people's dogs and cats could not travel to bags and turn them out.

This would make life a lot easier for people and dustbin men. Other towns have them why not Okehampton?
