Their number one team of Mark Lees, Dave Lugger, Ray Retter and Steve Sage were the fastest of the three in a time of 58:19.
This time was only beaten by the hot pre race favourites, Somerset based Team Alcan, who?s quartet included two elite category and two first category riders.
The second NDW team to finish was the all junior squad of Hal Fade, Ross MacDonald, Pete Vincent and Matt Yates. They completed the course in 1:02:10 which was good enough for fifth overall.
It also won them the award for the fastest team to include a junior.
This was an excellent ride by the four as they beat two potentially faster teams with only one junior and three senior riders in to win this prize.
The third team of Joe Beer, Nigel Bennet and James Benning were always going to be at a disadvantage as they only started as a team of three after fourth man Stuart Brewer was forced to withdraw from the race after hurting his back whilst moving house.
None the less the three of them posted a very respectable time of 1:03:56 which claimed them sixth position overall.
This weekend most of the Wheelers will be in action again. Ray Retter will be heading north for a 50 mile time trial in Cheshire.
Steve Sage will be racing closer to home on Saturday in the South West district 10 mile championship at Sourton and on Sunday he will be joining the rest of the club in their penultimate club championship, a 32 mile time trial at Bishop Tawton.
