NORTH Devon Wheelers cycle club held their fourth championship on Sunday on the sporting 32 mile Round The Houses course which starts in Bishops Tawton. It takes in streches of road along both the Taw and Mole Valleys before reaching South Molton and then finishing on the outskirts of Barnstaple.

The result followed all previous club championships this season with Mark Lees running out as the winner in a time of 1:15:18. Second place went to Dave Lugger who posted a time of 1:16:28. Steve Sage who was still feeling the after effects of equaling his personal best in a 10 mile time trial the previous evening took third spot in a time of 1:17:54.

All three of these beat their previous best times for this course on the beautiful still morning.

The junior prize was again won by the ever improving Pete Vincent in 1:18:46 and the lady?s victor was Helen Parkinson in 1:40:32.
