KIT Hill Country Park near Callington is this week hosting an event organised by Cornwall Council during the Tamar Trail Festival.

It takes place on Saturday October 30 when people can join in a walk in the park, up and over Kit Hill, one of only a few 'Marilyns' in Cornwall, and then back around the base. The walk is very steep in places. Bring a snack and a drink. The walk should take about three hours and starts at 10am from the incline car park on B3257 SX374723 PL17 8HW.

The session costs £2 for adults, £1.50 for concessions or £6 for families and is suitable for those 10 years old and over. Booking is preferred, call 01872 323468.

A Marilyn is a category of mountain or hill in Britain and Ireland with a relative height of at least 150 metres.
