STOKE Climsland Amateur Theatrical Society present their fast-paced, topical pantomime, Pirates of the Cornish Isle — a world premiere — at the parish hall from tomorrow (Friday).
When climate change forces the Tamar to flood, Cornwall becomes an island. Seizing the opportunity, the evil Lord Lidwell crowns himself King. Immediately, vast expenses claims are produced for moat cleaning, a duckhouse and repairs to his castle, the money all collected by his gatekeeper, a troll who lives at the only river crossing at Horsebridge.
At the same time, pirates, prisoners, a prince, witches and fairies do battle, either to share the King's ill-gotten gains or save Cornwall for the people.
Complete with music, dance, games and awful jokes, the pantomime can be seen tomorrow and Saturday and February 26 and 27 at 7.30pm, with children's matinées on both Saturdays at 2.30pm.
Tickets are available from Stoke Climsland Post Office at £5 for adults, £2 for children.
