AUDIENCES were transported back to the dark ages of the sixth century at Mount House at the end of the term, with this year's junior school play, 'What a Knight', which played for two nights at the school's Wortham Hall.

The play was based on strange goings-on at Camelot, involving King Arthur, played by Tom Verey, Queen Guinevere (annaliese Wright), several princess, knights, a dragon and the inevitable baddie — the Black Knight — with his henchmen Bernie and Ernie.

On stage there were many outstanding performances, from Tess Campbell-Bareham as Wott Cobblers, to Linus Pomroy as Lester Lugabout, and from Leila Inglish-Jones playing Merlin to Archie Burton as Jolly Jake, the depressed Jester.

The play was produced and directed by teachers Chloe Grubb and Rebecca Lamb, and proved a treat to watch.

At the end of the performances, a collection was made for CHICKS (Country Holidays for Inner City Kids).
