AN award-winning West Devon charity is asking people in the Okehampton area how they would like to see life in the area change for the better.

WestDEN is holding a series of meetings throughout the borough aimed at finding out what people think about their towns and villages, their facilities and how to improve them.

The results of the consultation will help WestDEN plan and develop projects which really will make a difference to people.

WestDEN director Oz Osbourne said: ?It is over eight years since WestDEN was founded and in that time we have developed and supported hundreds of projects in response to the concerns of people living and working in West Devon.

?Now, following the second Earth Summit in Johannesburg, we feel it?s time we went back to the people of West Devon to ask them about the issues which really concern them today.

?In this way, we can make sure the projects we develop reflect the needs and concerns of the community.?

Programmes run by WestDEN during the last few years include training for over-30s in rural skills, transport help for young people in rural areas and a health eating education programme.

WestDEN is holding a meeting in the Ockment Centre in Okehampton at 7.30pm on March 13 ? everyone is welcome to come along and make their views known ? refreshments will be served.
