AN OPEN meeting to discuss the future of West Devon over the next 20 years will be held next year by West DEN, the West Devon Environmental Network.
The aim of the event is to gather opinions from as many people as possible, according to West DEN director Oz Osborne, and to develop a list of actions which the group can carry out itself, or with the help of other local organisations.
He said he was hoping the meeting would be in February and would probably take the form of an open day, probably a Saturday, during which people could drop in and discuss their views on environmental issues with members of West DEN. The venue has not been chosen, but will be in Tavistock.
Local councillors, officials, MPs and representatives of other local organisations will be invited.
West DEN is a charity set up in 1994. It has been recognised for its work with local primary schools, helping children to understand the importance of biodiversity.
