NOT much encouragement was needed to get the people of West Devon in the party mood to celebrate the royal marriage of Kate Middleton to the second in line to the throne, Prince William.

Union flags and pictures of the happy couple were most abundant at the many street parties organised in the area. Colourful costumes, including many splendid 'brides and grooms' just added to the occasion.

People of all ages joined in to show their support and best wishes to William and Kate and no doubt raise a glass or two to toast the newlyweds.
