West Devon Borough Council and South Hams District Councils have launched a new website for neighbourhood planning groups, designed to be more user friendly and informative.

Previously the information about neighbourhood plans, including current consultations, toolkits and hints, was hosted on the West Devon and South Hams main websites. However, as more groups began the process and more information became available, it became clear that a separate website was required.

A spokesperson for the Neighbourhood Planning Team said: ‘Our new website has both West Devon and South Hams plans that are in progress so that people can quickly and easily find the area that they’re interested in. For community groups who are thinking about starting the process, there are sections explaining how to get started and what will be required.’

The website now makes it easier for groups to access information and for members of the public to view the plans. It also includes a ‘contact us’ section, as well as ‘frequently asked questions’ and links to other guidance pages.

The officer continued: ‘We hope that by making this information more accessible and clearer for residents, more groups will come forward to develop neighbourhood plans for their area. We’re here to help when they’re ready to get underway.’
