WOULD-BE poets are to be given a golden opportunity to let their creativity loose with a new group at Tavistock Library. The Tavistock Rhymers group has been created to encourage people to explore writing poetry and create their own verses. Each week a new poem will be displayed by the group in the library. The group will meet on the following dates between 10am and 12.30pm: Wednesday March 21; Monday March 26; Wednesday April 4; Wednesday April 11; Wednesday April 18; Wednesday April 25; Wednesday May 2. The group will be hosted by local author Diana Mudd and is free to join. County executive member for culture Cllr Sheila Hobden said: 'Tavistock Library provides an excellent range of services for the local community, far and beyond merely lending books. I hope this group proves to be a great success.' If anyone would like to book a place they should telephone the library on 01822 616501.
