THROUGH your letters page, could we at the TPA (Tavyside Patients Association) say 'well done' to all the young people who entered our junior photographer of the year 2014 competition. To our mind they were all winners as the standard has improved yet again this year, making it very difficult for the competition judges, James Bird, Keith Urro and Stuart Black to make their choices. We would like to congratulate all entrants for their fantastic photographs, many of which have been on view at a TPA information event in the Tavyside Health Centre this week. The overall winner of the Maureen Reynolds Trophy was Lauren Dillon from Tavistock College, with a picture in the 'Something Red' category in the 12 to 18 year age group. As one of her prizes, Lauren had a beautiful enlargement of her photograph produced and sponsored on canvas by Dartmoor Photographic. This picture narrowly took first place from several entries in the seven to eleven year age group, especially in the category 'Nature' where competition was extremely fierce. For the patients' pleasure, a beautiful enlargement of the winning picture on aluminium, again generously sponsored and produced by Dartmoor Photographic, will remain on display in the Tavyside Health Centre for the next 12 months.
