ACCLAIMED acoustic artist Edwina Hayes performs at The Plough Arts Centre on Friday February 1. The singer-songwriter, born in Dublin, raised in Lancashire, lived in Nashville, has been a regular on the acoustic scene since 1999 and has become a hit both in the UK and America, performing at The Royal Albert Hall and The Usher Hall in Edinburgh. Her real breakthrough came in 2005 when she released her debut album on the Warner Brothers label and had one of her songs featuring on the number one best-selling CD, Acoustic Love. The same year Edwina toured the UK with some award winning big names, including Jools Holland, Van Morrison, Nanci Griffith and Daniel Beddingfield. Edwina has won praise from the likes of Michael Parkinson and Bob Harris, who have been supporters of her on BBC Radio 2. Edwina has recently recorded her second album and hopes 'Pour me a drink' will be released ahead of the spring 2008 tour. Her solo shows are a pleasing blend of well crafted songs – beautifully sung and played – coupled with a natural charm that audiences everywhere find appealing. It's not often that someone of Edwina's calibre appears in Devon – don't miss this opportunity of seeing someone really amazing! Tickets £12 Full/£11 concessions/£10 supporters.
