COUNCIL services are now available in the palm of your hand after the launch of a new mobile website by West Devon Borough Council. With a growing percentage of people choosing to access the council's website using their smartphone, the local authority designed a new mobile version to make it easier and quicker to find services. Cllr Philip Sanders, leader of the council, said: 'It makes sense to create a version of our website specifically for mobiles given the fact that more and more of our residents are choosing to use their smartphones when visiting us online. 'You can now buy a parking ticket, report an incident of dog fouling or even take a photo and send it to us — all via your smartphone. 'I would urge residents to try it out and let us know what they think by emailing [email protected]">[email protected] 'All comments are extremely useful as we will continue to update and change the site in response to our residents' changing needs.' There is no app to download, simply visit using a smartphone. The new mobile site has colourful icons to allow people to select the top things they might like to access when out and about. The design reflects the services used most frequently and includes apps which allow you to pay online or report information.
