THE Peter Tavy Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers will be holding an exhibition at Peter Tavy village hall from Saturday October 27 to Tuesday October 30. The group has more than 30 members who meet on the first Saturday of every month. Members range from the professional to the complete novice. The group?s skills are shared in workshops that are led both by members and visiting teachers. These workshops cover many aspects of textiles, including felting, ply splitting, loom dressing, locker hanging, tapestry weaving and much more. Much of this, and the new found joy of knitting, will be on display at the exhibition. The exhibition?s theme is ?Moor and More . . . ? and all members have been encouraged to enter at least one item if not more. Many are using the wool of local and internationally known weaver Bobbie Cox, who took the majority of her inspiration from Dartmoor. The exhibition will be open from 10am until 4pm each day. Entry is free and refreshments will be available. Further information is available via e-mail from [email protected]">[email protected]
