MY wife and I were on holiday in Paignton the week before last. On the Saturday we decided to visit Tavistock — we always do this at least once during our stay, as we enjoy looking round ,and spending in the pannier market and the lovely grocery 'emporium' in the main street.

What a disappointment. We could not even find somewhere to park; the small car parks were all full and the large car park near the bus station was closed for a fair. This seems a ridiculous thing to do, especially on a Saturday.

I wonder what the local residents and traders thought of this. We probably shall not bother to visit again.
