OKEHAMPTON Primary School pupils were celebrating recently after being announced as the national UK Total Green School Award champions.

Thirty pupils and five adults had an all- expenses paid day out at London Zoo to attend the ceremony along with the other three regional winners.

After reception drinks and presentations from all four regional winning schools, the national winners were announced by Dermot O'Leary and Naomi Wilkinson — two trustees from Young People's Trust for the Environment. They are pictured left with the children.

Following photos, filmed interviews and lunch, pupils enjoyed a whistle-stop tour of London before returning home after a long, but exciting, day out.
