Jewson South Western
Millbrook 3
Tavistock 1
TAVISTOCK were without the suspended Craig Hodge and Andy Parnowski. In came Dave Symons and Kevin Russell to replace them with Paul Mellor and Craig Brook stepping up from the second team to sit on the subs bench.
The Lambs were fortunate to go in at half-time on level terms with the home side appealing for a penalty when Lee Cansfield went tumbling after a challenge from Symons. Mark Wall came to the Lambs' rescue on the half-hour as he sent a goal-bound shot over his crossbar from a Millbrook corner.
However, it was the Lambs who took the lead as a quick ball out of defence was laid on by Russell into the path of Darren Halfyard. Despite the attentions of defenders around him he kept his composure to lob the ball over keeper Elliott.
The lead only lasted five minutes and the leveller for the home side was not without controversy. Chris Todd's cross into the area was headed on by Lee Harvey for Cansfield to head goalwards. Keeper Andy Meeds seemed to have saved it but the assistant referee gave the decision that the ball had crossed the line. The normally placid Meeds was furious with the official but the goal stood.
On the hour the home side took the lead, this time a penalty as Cole barged into the back of Paul Mildon.
The goal of the game came right on time as Wayne Tregenza was allowed to break from midfield to cross for Mildon to head home.
