THERE will be fun in the water, in the mud and on land at Bere Ferrers Quay on Saturday, July 31 when the annual Watersports Day will be held.
More than 300 people attended last year?s event, and each year former residents return to their home village from across the globe.
Among the attractions will be various games, a barbecue, a pig roast, a bar, bouncy castle, crab catching, a static vintage motorcycle display, various stalls, refreshments run by the WI and two prize draws.
The day starts with games at 3pm, in and around the River Tavy, the first of which takes place in the mud, with the final ones in the river and the incoming tide. They include rain sticks, a relay race on the mud and a recycling game ? subject to change. The finale of the games will be the greasy pole.
Commentary will be provided by the new Peninsula Radio station presenters and there will be music for dancing or listening to in the evening. Popular local artists Mark Henderson and George Nix will play from around 9.30pm to the close.
