SCARECROWS have made a comeback in the run up to Gunnislake Festival, which takes place at the end of this month.
From the stunningly surprising to the superbly spectacular, the scarecrows have drawn visitors from far and wide in previous years.
They include classics such as 'Cormoran, the Cornish Giant' who guarded the entrance to Cornwall at Gunnislake Newbridge.
Judging of the scarecrows takes place this weekend, after which people can set off on the scarecrow trail and be dazzled by the ingenuity of their creators.
A map of the route will be available from Gunnislake Post Office.
There will be a first, second and third prize with the chance to win a ceramic plaque specially commissioned from well known Albaston potter Rob Fierek.
The festival itself takes place from July 29 to August 1 and will include music events, exhibitions and competitions for all the family.
