AN EPIC bike ride traversing the length of the country — and back again — is to pass through Okehampton this weekend. Glyn Davies, a cabinet maker and ex-Royal Marine from Exeter, is currently training hard for a bike ride called LEJOGLE — a gruelling trip from Land's End to John O'Groats and back to Land's End, a total of 1,744 miles. Glyn's challenge is to complete the challenge in just two weeks, cycling around 125 miles each day. Leaving Land's End early on June 28, he will travel through Lydford, Okehampton and Whiddon Down on his travels up to John O'Groats, and the same route in reverse on Friday, July 11. He is undertaking the challenge to raise money for the Parents, Teachers and Friends Association of the Ellen Tinkham School for Children with Complex Needs in Exeter.
