A BRAND new show from the Bristol-based Ministry of Entertainment takes to the stage in Bere Ferrers this weekend.

Doodlebugs & Bogeymen centres around wartime evacuees Brian and Jean, who are sent to Ilfracombe in North Devon.

In a show tinged with nostalgia, the two performers provide a real insight into life in Britain during that time through the eyes of these two characters.

The stories are true, gathered from people in the Westcountry; Brian and Jean are typical of many of those who fled from London and the blitz.

Performers Kate McNab and Ross Harvey have a wealth of experience between them.

Kate?s superb vocals (?outstanding power? ? The Independent) reflect her background in jazz vocal groups and stage musicals.

Ross Harvey trained at Bristol Old Vic and has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and on TV shows such as Casualty and The Monocled Mutineer.

This show, supported by Villages in Action, is suitable for anyone over the age of ten ? an evening of good entertainment plus some food for thought.

Doodlebugs and Bogeyman can be seen at Bere Ferrers Church Hall on Saturday at 8pm. Tickets £4.50 adults, £2.50 children from The Lanterna, Bere Ferrers, 01822 840380 or Anne on 01822 841464.
