DARTMOOR?S secret legacy will be revealed in a talk and walk next week.
Between November 19 and 21, Dartmoor National Park Authority has organised an archaeology weekend, as part of the ?Moor to Stay for Programme?, that will introduce more people to the legacy left by Dartmoor?s inhabitants throughout the centuries.
National Park guide Paul Rendell will start the weekend on Friday at 7.30pm in Meavy Village Hall where he will highlight many of Dartmoor?s treasures. He will lead a three-hour walk at 10.30am on Saturday, starting from Sheepstor village, where features from the evening talk can be brought to life.
Saturday sees another walk entitled ?Three Time Zones in Three Hours?. National Park Guide Debbie Jenkin will lead this three-hour walk, starting at 10.30am, from Haytor uncovering the history of Dartmoor.
Sunday sees a four-hour ?Prehistoric History? walk starting at 10.30am led by Mike Perriam. It will start at Merrivale. An alternative Sunday morning walk will be led by Ted Birkett-Dixon at 10.30am entitled ?Archaeology of the Down Tour Area?.
