TWO guided walks, on Sunday, September 18, will be exploring ?The Industrial Tamar Valley?. A five-mile walk entitled ?Industrial Danescombe?, will look at the mining, flower growing and timber growing of the area. The walk, led by Paul Rendell, will last three hours and include a picnic. The cost of the event is 50p for children and £2 for adults. The second walk is the Bere Peninsula Railway Walk, which will take you past two stations on the Tamar Valley Line in the Bere Peninsula. Much of the trail, led by Steve Church, follows the riverside, and will trace the Tamar?s progress from river valley to estuary. It starts at 11.15am, with the group catching the 11.35am train to Bere Alston, so train fare money is required, and there will also be a picnic. It is essential to book places on both walks.
