A WEST Devon student is soon to undertake a 30 mile sponsored midnight walk for St Luke's Hospice this month.

Natasha Henderson of Bere Alston is walking in memory of her grandmother, who died suddenly in January, and she is hoping to raise £300 for the charity that gave support to the Henderson's throughout their ordeal.

Natasha, 20, is currently a student, but she also works 12 hour shifts as a waitress, so she has to juggle her commitment to her job while also finding time to train for the walk. However, this is not her first time she has pushed herself to the limit, as she completed a World Challenge event in Croatia last year.

The walk on July 21 is in its sixth year. Last year the event managed to raise £300,000, but this time the organisers hope to do even better as the Hospice enters into its fourth decade of care.

The event is a ladies only walk, and traditionally offers seven and thirteen mile courses. But Natasha is aiming to undertake the hardest walk, 30 miles to represent the 30 years of service.

Natasha is currently looking for donations via the charity website Justgiving. She said she was looking forward to the challenge, and determined to complete it, in order to give back to the hospice that supported her and her family.
