I WAS interested in the articles on the benefits of walking (Times, August 27) and the letter from Tom Platt of Living Streets.
On behalf of my wife (who has mobility problems) and myself, I wish to express great appreciation for the dedication and helpfulness of the volunteer leaders on the local Tavistock Walk and Talk scheme.
Walkers depart from the Wharf Café at 10.30am each Tuesday. Level walks across the Meadows are geared to ability. Walkers return to the Wharf Café for coffee and talk. Not only does this aid mobility, but it also helps participants not to feel isolated.
Highly recommended. Why not join us next Tuesday?
