MORE than 90 walkers and many dogs took part in the fourth Devoted to Life walk at Cotehele last Sunday.

Walkers from all over Cornwall and Devon completed either a three or six mile walk around the beautiful estate in glorious sunshine. All walkers, even the youngest aged two, completed the walk within four hours.

The event was organised thanks to the support from the National Trust and after they completed the challenge all walkers received a complimentary pass for the house and a Devoted to Life Walk T-shirt.

To date more than £3,550 has been raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care. The charity provides high quality nursing, totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home supported by their families.

The nurses care for almost half of all cancer patients who die at home. The Marie Curie Nurses work through the day or night, usually for 9 hours at a time, to care for the patient and allow the family to get some well earned rest.
