BOTANIST and local conservationist Martin Summers will be leading a bat walk at Lockeridge, in Bere Alston, next month.

The one-mile walk will lead to an atmospheric farmhouse setting where owls and bats have previously been seen. A moth trap may be set up.

The walk is suitable for all ages, and refreshments will be served at the end. Dogs are not allowed, and sensible shoes, warm clothes and a torch are strongly recommended.

The walk will start at 7.30pm from Bere Alston School. there is no charge, but places are limited so booking is essential by calling the Tamar Valley AONB service on 01822 610676.
