Members and friends of the High Moorland Women's Institute put on their walking boots on Saturday all for the aid of Sports Relief.

More than 30 hardy people, (pictured) and a few pets, took part in the event at Princetown — and they were not put off by a 'spot' of torrential rain.

Just to make sure they were not hindered by the traffic local Police Community Support Officer Mark Canvin gave up his day off to control the traffic.

Their efforts in 'Walking a Mile' helped raise £166.66 for the sporting charity.

They were part of a whole range of sporting activity across West Devon doing their bit for Sports Relief. These including a 'row across The English Channel, a dodgeballathon, cycling, running and other physical exercise.
