WALKERS keen to discover the scenic Tamar Valley are invited to join Devon County Council?s countryside and access officer Steve Church for a tour of the Bere Peninsula on Sunday.

The six-mile walk will include a train ride along the beautiful Tamar Valley Line as well as a chance to walk some of the Tamar valley Discovery Trail and trace the changing landscape of the valley from its enclosed middle section to the wide expanses of the estuary.

The walk will provide an ideal opportunity to find out more about the valley?s history including the mines, ferries fruit growing and monks.

The walking will be moderate with two climbs, but is suitable for most provided stout footwear and appropriate clothing is worn.

The walk is free but train fare must be paid and walkers are asked to bring a packed lunch.

Dogs are welcome provided they are on a lead.

To book a place call TVAONB on 01579 351681 ? places are limited so this is essential.
