THERE is a chance to explore the beautiful heathland of Kit Hill, near Callington, with a free guided walk on Sunday July 18.

Organised by Cornwall Council, the session will include a talk on the plants and birds that thrive in the local landmark's heath, how and why the heath is managed and the uses of the heath both in the past and the present day.

The walk takes place from 10am to 12.30pm and starts from the Kit Hill entrance car park (SX 383 713).  The session is suitable for families, and dogs on leads are welcome.

The walk is free, but places should be booked on 01872 323468.
