THE Cornish Mining World Heritage Site is offering a free way to get the family out in the fresh air, with educational MP3 audio trail walks.

A series of interactive walks, listening to the colourful characters and historical tales of Cornwall's Mining World Heritage landscape, have been brought to life in a series of downloadable MP3 'Audio Trails', including a walk around Tavistock town.

Visitors can now enjoy exploring some of the mine workings, stately homes and gardens that played a part in the region's industrial heyday while listening to audio walking guides narrated by ex-miners, historic experts and actors.

The Tavistock walk 'The Duke of Bedford's Grand Plan' is approximately one mile long and walkers should allow an hour for the journey.
