A FANCY dress party and auction in Sampford Courtenay village hall raised £3,000 for Bliss, a charity for premature babies.
The theme for the event was for whatever you'd wear to run the London Marathon.
Organiser Cathy Carey said: 'The event was a huge success and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped to make this possible, especially Jason Sandford and Chris Rushton who ran the bar, Phil Yelland the DJ and Tracey Sandford who did most of the organising.
'Thank you to all the businesses in Okehampton for all their donations, it was really appreciated and to all my friends for helping to decorate the venue.
'The event was all about raising money for Bliss and I have been overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness of the people of Okehampton.
'I am so pleased we managed to raise such a phenomenal amount for such a worthwhile cause.'
