OKEHAMPTON and District Chamber of Trade is calling for volunteers to help with the preparations for the town’s annual Edwardian Evening.
In past years there has been a good turnout of volunteers to help get the town ready for the festive event but last year a dip in numbers made for a long day’s work for those who did volunteer.
Preparations include installing hanging baskets, setting up Christmas trees and putting up the Christmas lights among other things.
The chamber said the ideal number of volunteers would be around 30 for the day of setting up on December 2 and the more volunteers that help out, the less time it would take.
This year’s Edwardian Evening will be on Thursday, December 6.
Anyone who would like to offer help should meet at Donald’s Menswear at 8am on December 2 where they will receive a free bacon bap to get them started.
