SOME 30 volunteers from the Bere Peninsula joined in the day of action hosted by Bere Alston United Church on August 28.
The hard working residents spent the day clearing all the streets in Bere Alston of litter and dog mess. Some streets were also cleared of unsightly weeds.
Thirty one bags of rubbish were collected and disposed of as well as two bags of recyclable materials.
To reward the team, Bere Alston United Church offered a buffet lunch and tea and cake to finish the day.
A spokesperson for the group said: 'It would be wonderful to think that the streets of Bere Alston would stay litter and poo free for a long time.
'Perhaps people might pause now for thought before throwing their litter in the street or allowing their dogs to foul the pavements.'
