Okehampton RFC U12s 0 Barnstaple U12s 17 FROM the opening kick off Okehampton took the match to Barnstaple who managed to stop the home side from scoring with some excellent goal line defence. Okehampton were never able to break through the Barnstaple line even though they enjoyed excellent ball both from the scrum and loose play. Barnstaple?s strong runners, however, were able to break through the Okehampton line and through one such break managed to score from a close range ruck. The Okehampton kick-off went straight to one of Barnstaple?s strong runners who broke numerous tackles to score a soft try and Barnstaple led 12-0 at half time. The second half was very similar with Okehampton unable to capitalise on excellent ball provided by the pack and Barnstaple capitalising on good field position following a kick and scoring their third try from close range. Okehampton U8s 55 Barnstaple U8s 50 IT was a pleasure to watch such a fantastic, evenly matched game. Reece Peacock scored the first try, with Benjamin Stratton quickly scoring the second. Okehampton were confident with their passing all through the match, gaining them victory on the final whistle.
