OKEHAMPTON returned from an extended Christmas break to this convincing cup match win.
But it did not start well when Bideford brushed aside Okehampton?s midfield and defence to open the scoring.
Okehampton responded quickly with positive passing ending up with Chris Holland putting the ball neatly past the keeper.
The rest of the first half was end-to-end with all players equally involved.
Joe Turner cleared the ball off Okehampton?s line twice and almost scored from a long free-kick.
Other near-goals came from the ubiquitous Carl Pointer and Rory Honeychurch.
Kerry Bishop and Scott Tremain were instrumental in defeating several Bideford attacks.
Equal play continued long after half-time until an Okehampton corner which Turner headed in.
Okehampton dominated for most of the remaining time and Chris Holland scored his second after a skilful run through the defence.
Bideford rallied in the last few minutes but keeper Simon Lines saved all three attempts.

OKEHAMPTON had looked
forward to this game all season. All 19 registered players were there, but the team failed to take advantage of a real chance to take their first points of the season in this bottom-of-the-table derby.
After the first half warm-up, Okehampton did thread together some good moves, but they were patchy and lacked commitment in execution.
With a 0-0 draw on the cards, Crediton took advantage of a lucky chance close to goal and the game was lost four minutes from time. Okehampton. tried to turn the game round in vain.
This minor setback will not halt progress and Okehampton must bounce back immediately this week at Alphington.
