YOUNGSTERS suffering from the after-effects of the Chernobyl disaster had a fun-packed visit to Callington Fire Station last week. Fire fighters from Callington put on a tasty barbecue for the children and the town's Young Farmer's group provided a trailer ride around a local farm. The youngsters were also able to take a ride in classic and modern sports cars, including a Lamborghini, thanks to Gordon and Ernie Marshall, and a ride in a mini diesel train was also given. They had their nails and faces painted and Callington Town Council presented each youngster with a goody bag of locally produced gifts. Mark Smith, from Callington Fire Station, said: 'I think the youngsters massively enjoyed themselves. They were quite quiet at the start but once they had a go on everything they had a really good time.' Callington Fire Station has played host to the visiting youngsters annually for a number of years. Mark expressed thanks to everyone that was involved in providing donations and giving their time.
