ON Saturday, I attended a concert at Buckland Monachorum, taking care to park where I would cause no obstruction or inconvenience.

I enjoyed the occasion, and thought what a pleasant village it was as I departed in the dusk. My pleasure was diminished today when I found that the front bumper of my car had been smashed by a careless driver who had not the decency to leave a note.

I am now faced with a large bill (£200 excess) and the trouble due to someone else?s error. I can only console myself with the thought that the same might happen to him one day, and he will then know how it feels.
