RESIDENTS of a West Devon residential home had a taste of the Caribbean when they embarked on a 'virtual' round-the-world cruise recently.
Barbados was the first port of call for the Red House in Yelverton, in a fictitious global journey, learning about the culture of various countries.
Nikki Challinor, home manager at the Red House, said: 'We have completed the first leg of our world cruise and had a fantastic 'Crop Over' festival in Barbados.
'The day started with rum punches and a few tasters of Caribbean food, followed by bajan stew, jerk chicken and Barbados sweet fruit bread. The day culminated with a calypso festival with steel drums, piano playing and singing. A great day was had by all, and we are now back at sea heading to Mexico for March 24.
'If anyone would like to join us they are more than welcome.'
Anyone who would like to join should call Nikki Challinor on 01822 854376.
