Vintage car enthusiast Colin Fry had a special treat in store for visitors to the show — one of only nine 1936 Singer Bantams left in existence.

Colin, from Throwleigh, showed off the Bantam and his prize-winning 1934 Standard 10 Saloon, which has featured in the television series All Creatures Great and Small, and in the television adaptations of Miss Marple.

At the show with his son Philip, Colin spoke of his enthusiasm for such shows.

He said: 'I take cars along to shows like this about once a month. I use one of the smaller cars if we go on a run or anything like that. I've won prizes before with the Standard 10. I won a first prize with it at Killerton. I'd like to win something again soon!

'I've even made my own film with the Standard 10, up on Dartmoor.'

Colin is a member of the Devon Vintage Classic Car Club and of the local Standard Club. His collection of six vintage cars includes a 1954 Standard 8 and a 1955 Standard Super 8.
