MANY people will be drinking wine to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, but Eastcott Vineyard will be celebrating wine itself.
The vineyard near Northlew is again participating in English Wine Week, which runs from Saturday June 2 to Sunday June 10. The nationwide campaign highlights English wines, and vineyards across the country open their doors to visitors with tours, tastings and special events.
Eastcott Vineyard is offering tastings, guided tours, and the launch of their latest releases. These include their first pink fizz, Brut Rosé, and a new white 'Brut 2009', which brings their current range to six wines.
The business is run by Hilary and Richard Waller, who have been making wine for the past four years and have previously held successful opening for English Wine Week.
Hilary said: 'We have enjoyed medal success each year in the English and Welsh competitions, so we now feel very able to match the standard for English wine.
'It's really great to have been invited to participate again by Julia Trustram-Eve, event organiser for English Wine Producers.'
