THE lack of a village shop and transport problems were concerns raised at a meeting organised by the Bere Ferrers Villagers? Group recently. It was decided that households would be leafleted asking for ideas. They would also be asked if they would support the setting up of a weekly market in the village. It was felt there was insufficient public transport to meet the needs of the community. The meeting heard people were endeavouring to cope by using the present meagre twice-weekly transport service into Tavistock. This was backed up by lifts from friends and neighbours together with the once a week ?Ring and Ride? service and by using taxis.
